The British sisters who took YouTube by storm take to the Grammy red carpet to interview Katy Perry and Rihanna (2024)

They became a YouTube sensation on both sides of the pond after their impressive performance of Nicki Minaj's Super Bass went viral last year.

And after wowing the Ellen DeGeneres show last October, little Sophia Grace Brownlee and Rosie McClelland were given the rather daunting task of interviewing the stars at the Grammy awards on behalf of the hit talk show.

But today, it was revealed that the cousins, who hail from Essex England, took Sunday's red carpet in their stride.

The girls were dressed in their now familiar pink tutu dresses and tiaras as they appeared on The Ellen Show today to chat about their glitzy appearance and introduce their red carpet report.

'All the stars lined up and they came to see us,' Rosie enthusiastically told Ellen. 'We weren't nervous a bit.'

Sophia added: 'My favourite was Flo Rida because he put his shades on me and he said he wouldn't take them off for anyone. It was so good.'

In fact, little Sophia seemed more concerned about what she was going to eat than who she was going to meet on the big day.

'We weren't nervous at all,' she told Ellen. 'We were hungry. We ate cotton candy and sandwiches. It was so good.'

Ellen then introduced a video report of the girls on the red carpet at Sunday's award ceremony, wearing tiaras, pink skirts and gold tops emblazoned with the show's logo.

They were especially excited to meet Katy Perry, who complemented them on their pink outfits.

They then met Country Music act Lady Antebellum, who they blew bubbles with.

'We're having a bubble party with Lady Antebellum,' Sophia declared, before the pair greeted Fergie who stood out in her bright orange dress.

'My favourite colour is orange,' said Rosie.

'That's amazing,' Fergie replied.

Sophia and Rosie then seemed a little overwhelmed when Rihanna greeted them with a big hug.

'You're my favourite singer,' Rosie told the star, to which she responded: 'But you're my favourite so how does that work?'

The girls were equally excited to meet a rather bemused looking Taylor Swift, who they correctly predicted would be wearing gold 'because it suits her.'

'This is cute Ellen,' said Taylor, gesturing to the girls, who she said her Grammy trophies were 'the same size as you guys.'

Sophia and Rosie then had a sandwich break before serenading Adam Levine with a Maroon Five number.

They then signed off: 'Thanks Ellen,' said Sophia. 'We had so much fun at the Grammys.'

'Now it's time for some cotton candy,' added Rosie, producing a giant pink stick of the sweet treat.

The confident youngsters had last year wowed the Ellen DeGeneres audience with a lively rendition of Nicki Minaj song Super Bass, after achieving fame with a YouTube version.

Both dressed in their now famous pink ballerina outfits and tiaras, they were greeted by a surprise appearance from idol after their performance.

Sophia, who wowed the crowd with her impressive vocals, squealed with delight as the pop star emerged from backstage and immediately jumped into the singer's arms, throwing her arms around her.

Rosie, who dances and offers support while her older cousin sings, also gave her a hug.

Ellen then gave them Nicki inspired wigs, microphones and necklaces to complete their look.

The star then joined her little fans for another rendition of the song, before revealing that she was impressed when she first saw the clip, which has now been viewed more than six million times.

'Within five seconds of seeing this video I was calling everyone,' the 28-year-old said. 'I was also receiving a billion emails. Everyone was like you have to see this little girl.
