Leeu Estates

Imagine this: stunning vineyard scenery and incredible food in the idyllic Winelands.

“Enjoying great wine and delicious food with wonderful company is one of life’s most sophisticated pleasures,” once said Michael Broadbent, a renowned British wine critic and writer.

I couldn’t agree more. Especially if you find yourself in one of the Cape’s breathtaking wine farms, where you can soak in the awe-inspiring views and embrace the serene countryside atmosphere.

Now, here’s the challenge: with more than 300 exquisite wine estates scattered across Cape Town and its surrounding areas – from Constantia and Durbanville to Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, and Paarl – where should you even begin?

Don’t worry. I’ve narrowed it down for you. Below are the absolute best of the best – my top 10 favorite wine-farm restaurants – all you have to do is get in your car and follow the delightful scent of the Cape’s fine wines.

If you’ve had a delicious meal at a fantastic restaurant on a wine farm in Franschhoek, we’d absolutely love to hear all about it! Please share your experience in the comments down below.

I went to this restaurant and let me tell you, it’s something special. It’s located on the slopes of these big ol’ granite mountains, and the cool ocean breeze from the Atlantic Ocean makes it even better. You know what that means? Some seriously delicious wines! The folks at Idiom Wine Estate have been making award-winning wines for ten whole years, and they decided to top it off by opening this really fancy restaurant. It’s got these fancy glass walls and a beautiful outdoor terrace. Oh, and the view is to die for! You gotta see it for yourself.
