Guddu Dhanoa's 2002 historical biographical film 23rd March 1931: Shaheed depicts the events leading up to Bhagat Singh's execution on March 23, 1931, as well as those of his friends Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar. The film features a stellar cast, including Bobby Deol (Singh), Sunny Deol (Chandrasekhar Azad), and Amrita Singh (making a triumphant return as Vidyavati Kaur, Singh's mother). Family life is the theme of Apne. Time and again, Indian men have sacrificed their aspirations and desires for the sake of their families. Dharmendra plays Baldev Choudhary, a former boxing champion who hopes that his son Angad's (Sunny Deol) triumph will erase a stain on his own career. Unfortunately, Angad was unable to realise his ambition due to a financial issue. Baldev Choudhary is once again presented with the opportunity to appear on a TV show. Even though he helps a local lad get into the much-anticipated boxing show, a better coach steps in at the last minute, ruining his plans. Karan (Bobby Deol), the younger son of Baldev Choudhary, is about to drop out of music and start boxing after realizing his dad is having a tough time. He succeeds because he works really hard and is very dedicated. But after succumbing to deceit during a bout with a heavyweight champion, he becomes paralyzed on the hospital bed. Father Baldev is utterly devastated as a result. Angad intervenes to change the tide and restore joy to his father's life just as he is about to end his own life.

Sunny Deol co-produced and directed the 1999 drama film Dillagi, which starred him, his real-life brother Bobby Deol, Urmila Matondkar, and others. For Sunny, this was a first: not only did he direct the film, but he also acted alongside his brother Bobby for the first time.

Sunny Deol's character Ranvir arranges the marriage of his reckless younger brother Rajvir (Bobby Deol) to Urmila Matondkar's character Shalini. However, Ranvir has no idea that Rajvir and Shalini are actually the same person.

Heroes is a multi-starrer that features Salman Khan, Bobby Deol, Sunny Deol, and Preity Zinta, among others. The plot is about two students, Vatsal Sheth and Sohail Khan, who are on their way to Chandigarh on a road trip and encounter numerous characters along the way who influence their outlook on life. Poster Boys (2017) was Shreyas Talpade's first feature film as a director, writer, and co-producer. The film boasts an ensemble cast that includes Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Shreyas Talpade, Sonali Kulkarni, Samikssha Batnagar, and Triptii Dimri. Officially, it's a remake of Talpade's own Marathi film, Poshter Boyz, in which he also starred and produced. A real-life occurrence that served as inspiration for the film were three porters who found their photographs on a vasectomy poster.

Three ordinary guys named Vinay, Arjun, and Jaagavar find their likenesses on a vasectomy promotional poster, causing their lives to abruptly turn upside down. Everyone, including their own families, ridicules the three, prompting them to unite and pursue justice.

Samir Karnik directed the 2011 action-comedy Yamla Pagla Deewana, which featured Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Bobby Deol as the main characters. Following their collaboration in Apne (2007), this film represents the second pairing of the Deol family. Dharmendra's 1975 hit song Main Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana from his film Pratigya inspired the film's title. In the film, Dharmendra and Bobby Deol play a con artist duo, while Sunny plays a good guy who is married to a Canadian and lives in Canada.

Navaniat Singh directed the action-comedy Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se in 2018. This film is the third instalment in the Yamla Pagla Deewana series and the sequel to Yamla Pagla Deewana 2. Among the cast members are Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Bobby Deol, along with Kriti Kharbanda, Mohan Kapoor, Asrani, and Binnu Dhillon.
