Chest rub – Vapor rub
I have shared many of these recipes before in my very first blog post on DIY Vapor rubs, & I have shared them in many of my other blog posts on Babies, essential oils, coconut oil etc. I even shared it on my other new blog & everyone loves it so much I knew it needed an encore posting here on my blog, after all winter & cold & flu season is upon us so being reminded of recipes like this that were posted last winter is always a good idea. And you might see a new recipe or 2 here that was not in last years post & see I have tweaked them a bit from fan input as well.
It is cold, flu & allergy season, it is time to have vapor rub on hand. So instead of using toxicpetroleumbasedproducts you can easily make a safe effective version at home. These are the recipes I use for me & my kids.

These can be used for cold, flu. allergies, stuffy noses etc
Rub generously on chest & back, & on throat if desired
This can also be rubbed on feet & put sock on to help cough & congestion
If you do not have raw coconut oil, you can use regular coconut oil, but raw would be best, or you can use Sweet almond oil or Olive oil for a liquid version.
I tend to make these as needed & have created some unique blends, these can also be used for massage of sore muscles, rubbed on for relaxing & rubbed on tired feet.
Testimonials:
From Ingrid H.: I made your chest rub yesterday and it is AMAZING. I also took your advice for the coughing.
We both got some sleep last night. He had a great nap today and is sleeping now, not coughing himself awake.(her & her young son who has been coughing so bad he could not sleep).
I’m sooooo glad I follow you on FB and am so thankful for your quick reply and all your awesome help. I’m so happy not giving him meds and meds and med.
I’m very grateful and thank you very much…so does my little guy.
My advice was:We use raw honey mixed with Bragg apple cider vinegar & lemon juice on a spoon, just a few drops of each then add the raw honey to the spoon & have them take it. We also use teas & colloidal silver & chest rubs & take raw coconut oil. I have more info here:How I stop sickness in my home, for children & adults. Also you can buy Olbas Cough Syrup at the healthfood store or online & it is great.
